My name is Remy Oukaour. I graduated from Stony Brook University in 2014 with a master’s degree in computer science. For my thesis project, I worked with Prof. Larry Wittie on a visualizer for large-scale brain models generated and simulated by BOSS (the Brain Organization Simulation System).

When I was in Stuyvesant High School, I joined FIRST Robotics Team 694. We built robots—partly from kits, partly from spare metal, partly from zip ties and duct tape—to compete in sports-style tournaments. I mainly programmed them to autonomously compete, and taught new members to do the same.

I read a lot in my free time, largely science fiction. Some of my favorite authors who also have interesting websites are Peter Watts, Greg Egan, and Ted Chiang.
